Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) is planning to facilitate Big B Amitabh Bachchan, Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth, Telugu Megastar Chiranjeevi, legendary actor Kamal Hassan and many others on the occasion of the diamond Jubilee celebration of Kannada Film Industry. Names of Prakash Rai, Arjun Sarja, Murali, Bollywood actress Rekha, Ambika, Sarita, Khushboo, Geetha, Madhavi, Juhi Chawla and Shilpa Shetty are also included in the list. KFCC has decided to facilitate all these actor.

Dr. Jayamala, the president of KFCC, has prepared a list of 50 non-Kannada actors, who have served Kannada films by acting in Kannada films. Moreover the name of former Chief minister of Tamil Nadu Dr. Jayalalita is included in the list in order to recognise her service to Kannada films in the past. She will be invited for the function.

Amitabh Bachchan has made a guest appearance in Ramya-Dhyaan starrer Amritha Dhare. Rajinikanth has acted in SR Puttanna Kanagal's Katha Sangam and Sahodarara Sawal. Chiranjeevi has acted in Ravichandran's Sipayi. Kamal Hassan has appeared in Rama Shyama Bhama and Pushpak Viman. Karanataka based Prakash Rai, Arjuna Sarja and Murali have also acted in several Kannada movies. Many of these actors have been introduced to cinema field through Kannada films. And today they are shining on the horizon of other languages. So all these actors are invited for the function. Now Palace ground Bangalore is getting decorated for the facilitation function.

Playback singers like Dr. JK Yesudas, Dr. PB Shrinivas, Dr. SP Balasubramanyam, S Janaki, P Susheela, LR Ishwari and Vani Jayaram are also facilitated. Meanwhile 75 books on the people, who have dedicated themselves to Kannada Cinema, are released. Prof Bargur Ramchandrappa is the editor of all these books. Besides this, 108 popular Kannada film artists are also facilitated. Kannada film industry has already announced 15 days holiday to prepare all these events from February 17 to March 10. But this holiday is not applicable for screening of movies in theatres.

KFCC celebrate platinum jubilee

Kannada film industry is all set to take break for 15 days to celebrate its platinum jubilee next month. According to sources, Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce has been planning a grand gala function to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Kannada film industry.

KFCC president Dr Jayamala has said that KFCC has requested the industry people to cancel their shooting from February 17 to March 3 and help to make the occasion a grand celebration. A 15 days rehearsal will take place prior to the function for which she has requested the industry's support.

According to sources, the event will be held either in the Kanteerava Stadium or in the Palace ground after the Bengaluru International Film Festival. For 15 days, all the superhit movies produced by the industry for 75 years will be showcased here. Actor-turned-director Crazy star Ravichandran has taken charge of organising various event to mark the occasion.

It is said that popular stars like Puneet Rajkumar, Ganesh and Pooja Gandhi etc are all very excited to take part in the celebrations.

75th Anniversary of Kannada Film Cinema


Celebrations are in the offing to mark the 75th Anniversary of Kannada Cinema, under the auspices of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and the Government of Karnataka.

The celebrations would be held from the 1st of March to the 3rd of March at the Palace Grounds, Bangalore. Elaborate plans have been made for the celebrations and a 15-day holiday has been declared for the Kannada film industry, during which period there would be no film shooting or related activities going on.

On March 1, there would be various cultural events presented by the Kannada film artists and this would be coordinated and directed by veteran director-producer-actor V. Ravichandran. On March 2, 75 books on prominent Kannada film personalities will be released in the morning, while in the evening more than 100 film personalities will be honored. On March 3, people from other walks of life who have helped Kannada Cinema prosper will be honored. This will include the press, the police and many such others. Sunfeast and Udhaya TV would be the official sponsors of Kannada Cinema's Platinum Jubilee
